As a graduate of the Boston Shiatsu School (1998) I was issued the mandate to continue learning. The broad spectrum of Asian mat techniques all rely on the body’s innate intelligence to guide the session. Shiatsu is one such clothed health care therapy that is easily adapted to a massage chair and table. This bodywork style is suited for all ages and most health conditions, including Prenatal and Injury Recovery. Coupled with dynamic stretches learned from Thai massage, my Shiatsu sessions address the client’s body in the exact moment he or she arrives for body work.
It has been my honor to witness incredible healing events since beginning my practice in 1998. I continue to practice Shiatsu in the traditional futon style.
Modalities Offered: Shiatsu, Injury Rehabilitation, Prenatal (shiatsu mat only)

My path to becoming a bodyworker and healer first opened in 2002, when I stumbled into the movement aspect of Chinese medicine, Qigong, a wondrous gift that changed everything for me. As I became more aware of and sensitive to what was happening in my body, I became increasingly interested in how the body works, and ultimately, in how and why it sometimes doesn’t.
I graduated from the Arcata School of Massage in 2009, a program informed by the work of Moshe Feldenkrais. While receiving training in somatic therapy, I learned to approach chronic pain structurally, while also taking into account the role of the central nervous system. This approach invites solutions instead of simply masking symptoms.

In the over 10 years of practicing massage as a therapeutic art, I’ve learned that each massage must be unique to the individual I am working with, and also unique to the moment that individual is experiencing in their life. Deep presence and listening, as well as taking my time are my greatest strengths. If I had to describe the massage I give in four words it would be slow, concentrated structural alignment.
I attended the New Mexico School of Natural Therapeutics in 2006, a school that was focused on massage being one of many essential and integral parts of a persons overall wellness.
