I believe that feeling completely comfortable and at ease is of utmost importance while receiving massage. In 2012, I graduated from the North Carolina School of Advanced Bodywork in Asheville, North Carolina, my hometown. Instructed primarily by Kyle C. Wright, LMBT, NCTMB, I learned much in the way of structurally balancing the body through techniques of slow, concentrated bodywork. To compliment this instruction, I also spent a period of time in the green mountains of Vermont, practicing massage at the Brattleboro Holistic Health Center. To broaden my field of knowledge, I have taken many additional classes involving modalities such as Thai Massage, Feldenkrais, Hot Stone Therapy and Breema.
In order to completely allow your muscles to let go of their tension, one must have neither pain nor fear of the pain itself. This is done by keeping a steady communication throughout the entire massage, verbally or non-verbally. Once the mind is able to let go of tension, the muscles will release and the healing can begin gracefully.
Modalities Offered: Bistro Blend, Deep Tissue, Hot Stone, Swedish
My love of holistic health started for me a decade ago when I moved to Boulder from Tennessee. Since moving to Boulder, I have been devoted to learning and incorporating holistic health practices such as bodywork, nutrition, and medicinal herbalism into my own life. Through my studies I have learned how to take better care of myself and my health, which has resulted in me loosing 100 pounds, and has inspired me to be a lighter and brighter being.
My own journey from illness to health motivated me to become a massage therapist so that I could share my experience with others and help them along their path to health and wellness.

The art of practicing massage has since become a form of yoga for Carrie – the combination of movement, music, and spiritual communication empowers her to transfer her energy into healing others, and, in turn, she often finds herself equally rejuvenated. A graduate of the Boston Shiatsu School, Christian travelled to Boulder in 1999 to began her mat-based and chair massage practice. She has continued studying Shiatsu, and added techniques of Thai-yoga and Breema bodywork to her foundation. With a diverse perspective on mat therapies, Christian has the tools to treat clients of all ages and most health conditions, including prenatal and injury recovery. Adapting techniques for the massage chair has been a special focus. Christian has developed a chair massage foundation with plenty of room for growth, and teaches other practitioners this modality. Beyond mat therapies, Christian started the on-going study of Core Synchronism in 2016. With it’s roots in both Cranial Osteopathy and Polarity Therapy, this subtle yet profound technique helps re-establish the flow of cerebrospinal fluid throughout the body. This technique can be integrated into a Shiatsu sessions, however is a stand-alone treatment. This efficacy of Core Synchronism is particularly evident when applied to injuries that don’t “stay healed.”
Christian has been fortunate to learn from master teachers of diverse bodywork modalities. There are two common lessons among all advanced practitioners. First, learn to follow the receiver’s body to determine the treatment strategy for any given session. Second, correctly applied bodywork therapies will help successfully restore health.

My path to becoming a bodyworker and healer first opened in 2002, when I stumbled into the movement aspect of Chinese medicine, Qigong, a wondrous gift that changed everything for me. As I became more aware of and sensitive to what was happening in my body, I became increasingly interested in how the body works, and ultimately, in how and why it sometimes doesn’t.
I graduated from the Arcata School of Massage in 2009, a program informed by the work of Moshe Feldenkrais. While receiving training in somatic therapy, I learned to approach chronic pain structurally, while also taking into account the role of the central nervous system. This approach invites solutions instead of simply masking symptoms.

Who I am, and what I do are one and the same. The practices I engage in are those that feed the soul, and are challenging to my physical and mental being. Movements in the form of paint, music, dance, travel, nature/nurture, and conversations, both inwardly and outwardly direct me towards the beauty of claiming to be no more than a student/observer of life.
Style of Massage: Integrative intuitive with focus on connecting and calming the nervous system. Navigation along the meridian lines is my point of focus. A deep pain-free manipulation. A wide range of individuals find their way on my table. I work with clients that suffer from paralysis to stresses of pregnancies and everything in between.
Be well, and hope too see you soon

In this process joints are opened, muscles and tendons are stretched, internal organs are toned, and energy lines are balanced.
