Our Mission & Purpose

Our mission is to bring stress relief to the community and offer positive solutions that prevent disease, cultivate health, and promote vitality and well-being.

As our modern day society becomes more enamored by, and engrossed in technology, it is easy to forget that we still require basic ingredients to survive, thrive and experience true health, vitality and emotional well being.
Our culture at large has substituted fast food, computers and social media for nourishing food from local farms, recreation in the great outdoors and face-to-face connection with others. We live in a fast-paced, high-stress global world. It has been stated that as much as 95% of all disease is linked to stress.
Just as our body needs nourishing food, it also requires nourishing touch to thrive and release negative stress and emotions. As our time is spent more and more on computers we need to make sure we’re getting enough essential touch in our lives.
The massage and bodywork we provide is the antidote for what is missing in our culture.

We offer Therapeutic Touch for a High Tech world!

Dave Goetz | Bodywork BistroMeet the man behind the Bistro

Have you ever dreamed of turning your passion into a business?
That’s the dream I’m living every day by offering healing to the Boulder community, and I know how lucky I am.
Hi, I’m Dave Goetz, the owner of Bodywork Bistro.
After a successful career in the organic food industry, I moved to Boulder in 1998 eager to invest in the natural health movement here. After some soul-searching, I found my place with massage therapy, and I enrolled in the Boulder College of Massage Therapy in 2000.
Bodywork Bistro began as a chair massage business within the Whole Foods Market Pearl St. location shortly after it opened in 1998.  We have grown to serve the need for stress and pain relief throughout Boulder. Our Downtown location opened in 2008, and we expanded further to our Iris Avenue location in 2012, which allowed us to host Yoga, Qigong, Shiatsu and Massage classes for the community.
Our Iris Ave. Living Arts center is the home of HeartMind Bodywork and Healing Spirits Massage Training Program.
I learned from being in the natural foods industry how much I enjoyed being around healthy people committed to taking care of themselves. I feel strongly that nourishing touch is as important to our wellness as nourishing food is.  When I think about the future of Bodywork Bistro, I’d like to see it play a role in moving us away from the current sick care industry that our nation finds itself embroiled in. My vision is to see massage therapists become holistic practitioners serving as primary care givers in a country that understands that preventing disease before it arises is far more cost effective than waiting until we get sick before taking action.
By staying well and becoming an advocate of healthy living you can become part of the growing Healthcare Revolution! I look forward to meeting you in the Bistro.

We’re more than a massage studio, we’re a community.

Studio RentalsWe are passionate about health, knowledgeable about the body, and good at what we do. Although we provide relaxing massage, we are not a spa.  Although we offer wellness and healing services, we are not a medical facility.

We cultivate a lifestyle of wellness that is preventative healthcare.

Have you always wished for the skill of an experienced therapist, but the easy scheduling of a membership-based massage practice?

If so, your search is over.

At Bodywork Bistro, our expert therapists and friendly staff make your wellness their top priority.

You’ve got a busy life, but you know that your health should still come first.

That’s why we offer convenient walk-in and same-day scheduling for affordable chair, table and mat massage that you can fit in between appointments and on the go.

All massage therapists are not equal, and neither are the places they work.

Have you ever visited a corporate massage chain with high hopes, only to be disappointed by a lackluster massage from a burned out employee working long hours without breaks?
Here at Bodywork Bistro, we take a completely different approach to our work.

We believe that a truly healing space will value the lives of our clients and our employees equally, which is why we limit our shifts to 4 hours vs. 6 – 8 hours, have a full 15-minute buffer between clients and pay our therapists over 50% more than what the national chains pay. This allows us to keep our therapists happy who in turn can keep you happy.
We also offer our staff passes at partnered yoga studios. Taking care of our bodies ensures that we are at our best when taking care of you.
We encourage our clients to take a proactive approach to their wellness.
Our membership program allows you to set aside a predetermined amount each month towards your wellness care.
