Most of our clients come to the Bodywork Bistro seeking relief from pain. Did you know that it is inflammation in the body that causes that pain in the first place?
While inflammation is the body’s normal and natural response to protect us from foreign invaders, when that inflammation gets out of hand and becomes chronic then we have a serious problem.Chronic inflammation causes most of our dis-ease, including the leading causes of death in the U.S. (obesity, cancer, heart disease, etc).
Massage therapy is an excellent way to reduce the inflammation that causes pain, and regular massage coupled with an anti-inflammatory diet creates a strong foundation for long-lasting health and increased well being. The pain will go away quicker and not come back as easily!
There are many foods that reduce inflammation, so please include a variety of these foods in your diet to combat chronic inflammation.
Here are some of our favorites: leafy greens, blueberries, fermented vegetables, teas including matcha and tulsi, garlic, shitake mushrooms and omega-3 fats found in fish like wild Alaskan salman.
Many of our common cooking herbs and spices, such as turmeric, are anti-inflammatory as well, so spice up your foods for an extra dose of health!
